The National Bank of Romania has published the press release on 14th of October regarding the balance of payments and external debt for August 2019. As shown, in January – August 2019, the balance-of-payments current account posted a deficit of EUR 7,080 million, compared with EUR 6,104 million in the same year-ago period.

According to the press release of National Institute of Statistics, the average gross earnings on total economy in august 2019 were 4981 lei and the net 3044 lei. In this regard, in August 2019, the average gross nominal earnings were 4981 lei, with 110 lei (-2.2%) less than the one registered in July 2019.

The National Bank of Romania has published the Bank Lending Survey – August 2019. The Survey is conducted on a quarterly basis by the NBR in January, April, July and October. It is based on a questionnaire (released as part of the May 2008 analysis) which is sent to the top 10 banks. These banks were selected based on their market share in terms of loans to companies and households, accounting for approximately 80 percent of the loan stock.
